Clutterbuck kids

Thanksgiving isn’t the only thing the Clutterbuck family is celebrating this week.

Cal Clutterbuck played in his 1,000th NHL game on Wednesday against the Philadelphia Flyers at UBS Arena.

The New York Islanders forward’s four kids created a homemade sign that read “Go Dad 1,000” in the team’s colors which they held up during warmups.

Clutterbuck’s current and former teammates throughout his career also sent special video messages to congratulate him on reaching the milestone.

“Clutter, a thousand games, brother. Unreal. Congratulations,” Islanders captain Anders Lee said in the video. “So happy for you and your family. Enjoy the night. I know you have had a hell of a ride. [I’m] So happy to spend all this time that we’ve had together on the island. I wish you nothing but the best.”

The veteran forward is in his 17th NHL season. He spent six seasons (346 games) with the Minnesota Wild and 11 seasons (654 games) with the Islanders.
