Boyle greets fan wearing his jersey at 2026 Winter Classic

It’s always nice when that old Brian Boyle jersey comes in handy.

Before the 2026 Discover NHL Winter Classic at loanDepot park in Miami on Friday, the former New York Rangers forward (now NHL Network analyst) ran into a fan wearing his Rangers sweater from back in the day.

After spotting the fan outside the ballpark, Boyle got the fan’s attention and was immediately greeted by a huge smile.

The fan shook Boyle’s hand and the two talked briefly, undoubtedly creating an unforgettable moment before the marquee matchup between the Rangers and Florida Panthers (8 p.m. ET; HBO MAX, truTV, TNT, SNW, SNO, SNE, TVAS).

Boyle spent five of his 14 NHL seasons with the Rangers, from 2009-2014. He retired in 2023 and began his television career with NHL Network.
