T.J. Oshie temporarily a fan of Columbus cannon

T.J. Oshie has some thoughts on the famous, or infamous, Columbus Blue Jackets cannon at Nationwide Arena. And depending which day you ask him, his feelings are going to be different.
While the Washington Capitals forward is playing against the Blue Jackets, he hates it.

But now he's playing for Team USA at the World Cup of Hockey 2016. Team USA will play Team Canada in a pretournament game at Nationwide Arena on Friday (7 p.m. ET; ESPNU, SN, TVA Sports).
So what if the cannon is fired in his favor?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder when it comes to the very loud, unique celebration device.
The cannon fits with Columbus' Civil War-era origins for its nickname. It's a handmade replica of an 1857 Napoleon cannon, and was introduced for the 2007-08 season. It's fired when the players take the ice, whenever a Blue Jackets goal is scored and after wins.
With Team USA as the home team Friday, that'll apply to them.

Opposing players have described plugging their ears to brace for the boom but being scared by it anyway. Florida Panthers goaltender Roberto Luongo thought players were avoiding scoring toward the end of the 2015 NHL All-Star Game in Columbus after it had already gone off about a dozen times.

But for Oshie and the rest of the non-Blue Jackets playing for Team USA in Columbus, it'll be music to their ears.
