The Lightning matched the 2014-15 team (50-24-8) for most wins with a 4-3 victory against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Tuesday. They lead the Atlantic with 104 points, four ahead of the Boston Bruins, who have one game in hand.
The Islanders are 10 points behind the New Jersey Devils for the second wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference with nine games left.
