Anaheim Ducks forward Ryan Kesler is handling a personal matter at home and will not play against the Toronto Maple Leafs on Thursday (7:30 p.m. ET; PRIME, FS-SD, SNO, NHL.TV).
Ducks coach Bruce Boudreau said he is not sure if Kesler will return for the remainder of the Ducks' five-game road trip, which ends at the Edmonton Oilers on Monday, according to the Orange County Register.

"He had to go home for an emergency," Boudreau said.
Kesler's 44 points (17 goals, 27 assists) is second on the Ducks, who will clinch a berth in the Stanley Cup Playoffs if they earn at least one point against the Maple Leafs or if the Dallas Stars defeat the Arizona Coyotes in any fashion.
Defenseman Simon Despres is injured and was sent back to Anaheim for further evaluation. Despres sustained an injury during a 4-3 loss to the Montreal Canadiens on Tuesday. He missed 42 games earlier this season because of a concussion.
"He got hit last game and he wasn't feeling right," Boudreau said. "With his history, we wanted to make sure that he's completely better before he plays."
The Ducks on Thursday recalled defenseman Shea Theodore from San Diego of the American Hockey League. Theodore, 20, has six points in 13 NHL games, and 31 points in 47 AHL games this season.
