Ryan Johansen is out 12 weeks for the Nashville Predators after the center had surgery on his right leg Wednesday.

The projected recovery time for the 30-year-old projects through the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Johansen was helped to the locker room at 16:43 of the second period of a 5-4 shootout win against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday after the skate blade of Canucks defenseman Quinn Hughes appeared to contact the back of his lower right leg.
"It didn't look good," Nashville coach John Hynes said after the game. "I know that he got cut. Other than that, I have not had a chance to talk to the trainers yet."
Johansen has 28 points (12 goals, 16 assists) in 55 games this season. Selected by the Columbus Blue Jackets with the No. 4 pick in the 2010 NHL Draft, he has 555 points (189 goals, 366 assists) in 842 games through 12 seasons with the Blue Jackets and Predators, and 54 points (19 goals, 35 assists) in 67 playoff games.
Nashville (28-22-6) is five points behind the Colorado Avalanche for the second wild card into the playoffs from the Western Conference. following a 6-2 win at the San Jose Sharks on Thursday.
