Ryan Donato signed a one-year, $1.2 million contract to remain with the Seattle Kraken on Wednesday.

The 26-year-old forward became an unrestricted free agent July 13 after he did not receive a qualifying offer.
Donato had NHL career highs in goals (16) and points (31) in 74 regular-season games last season. He also scored the first goal in Kraken history in a 4-3 loss to the Vegas Golden Knights on Oct. 12.
"Ryan elevated his game last season and we're happy to have him return to the Kraken," general manager Ron Francis said. "He completed a career year and will hopefully eclipse that in 2022-23."
Selected by the Boston Bruins in the second round (No. 56) of the 2014 NHL Draft, Donato has 108 points (51 goals, 57 assists) in 254 regular-season games with the Kraken, San Jose Sharks, Minnesota Wild and Boston Bruins. He does not have a point in five Stanley Cup Playoff games.
