Lehner_Perry

Robin Lehner extended his shutout streak to 131:44 in the Vegas Golden Knights' 3-0 victory against the Dallas Stars in Game 2 to even the Western Conference Final at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Tuesday.

It's the second-longest Stanley Cup Playoff run by a Golden Knights goalie behind Marc-Andre Fleury, who went 144:04 without allowing a goal in 2018.
It's also the longest active run by any goalie and third longest in the 2020 postseason behind Thatcher Demko of the Vancouver Canucks (138:40) and Semyon Varlamov of the New York Islanders (138:17). Lehner made 24 saves for his second straight shutout and fourth in his past seven starts. His four shutouts lead the NHL, and he's the fourth goalie in the past 15 seasons with four in one postseason (Tim Thomas for the Boston Bruins and Roberto Luongo for the Canucks in 2011; Fleury for Vegas, 2018).
Lehner's past four wins have been shutouts. He is the sixth NHL goalie to get each of his first four playoff shutouts in the same year (Miikka Kiprusoff, five for the Calgary Flames in 2004; Jean-Sebastien Giguere, five for the Anaheim Ducks in 2003; Patrick Lalime, four for the Ottawa Senators in 2002; Olie Kolzig, four for the Washington Capitals in 1998; Frank McCool, four for the Toronto Maple Leafs in 1945).
Five NHL goalies have had more shutouts in one postseason: Martin Brodeur, seven for the New Jersey Devils in 2003; Dominik Hasek, six for the Detroit Red Wings in 2002; andd Giguere, Kiprusoff and Nikolai Khabibulin (Tampa Bay Lightning, 2004) with five each.
Lehner is 9-4-0 with a 1.84 goals-against average and .924 save percentage in 13 postseason games, allowing two goals or fewer in seven of his past nine, entering Game 3 in Edmonton, the hub city for the conference finals and Stanley Cup Final, on Thursday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS).

Golden Knights, Stars achieve conference finals first

The 2020 Western Conference Final is the first time in the NHL modern era (since 1933-34) that the conference finals/NHL Semifinals have opened with each team earning a shutout in the first two games (Dallas defeated Vegas 1-0 in Game 1). It's the eighth series in that span to begin that way and second this postseason (Maple Leafs vs. Columbus Blue Jackets in Stanley Cup Qualifiers).
