With two power-play goals on Tuesday night, DeBrincat reached the 20-goal plateau in the fewest number of games of his NHL career (33 games). The previous quickest instance of him scoring 20 markers came last year when he recorded his 20th in the 36th game of the season. It is the fourth time in five seasons that the Farmington, Hills, Michigan native has registered 20 or more goals in a campaign.
DeBrincat's two power-play tallies came 40 seconds apart against the Avalanche. He became the fifth Chicago skater to notch two power-play markers in a span of 40 seconds or fewer, joining Bobby Hull (0:13 on March 20, 1969), Dustin Byfuglien (0:16 on Nov. 30, 2007), Max Bentley (0:26 on Jan. 20, 1946 & 0:36 on Nov. 8, 1945) and Doug Bentley (0:31 on Feb. 26, 1947).
Since the 2018-19 season, when DeBrincat scored a career-best 13 PPG's, he shares seventh in the league with 47 goals on the man advantage. He shares 4th in the league with 20 goals during the 2021-22 campaign and 3rd (McDavid) with 52 goals since the beginning of last season.
