VANCOUVER - Detroit Red Wings goaltender Petr Mrazek had a new set of pads and gloves made to match the jersey he will wear in the Coors Light NHL Stadium Series against the Colorado Avalanche at Coors Field on Saturday (8 p.m. ET; NBC, SN, TVA Sports 2).
Mrazek's new gear from Vaughn Custom Sports, which has a manufacturing facility just outside Detroit, features the redesigned 'D' logo featured on the new Stadium Series jerseys the Red Wings will wear.

The new logo, which the Red Wings have said was "updated in its design style to connect more directly with the iconic modern-day Winged Wheel logo," is featured prominently in red on
Mrazek's leg pads, blocker and glove, as well as being stitched into the top of the pads in a subtler white silhouette style.
Though goaltenders have long had new masks made for special events, the trend of matching custom equipment is also growing, and Mrazek is no stranger to it.
Mrazek, who has worn an everyday set with Detroit's iconic winged wheel logo stitched across the face of the pads in the past, even had a set of red Vaughn pads decorated with top hat-wearing snowmen and falling snowflakes for the 2014 Bridgestone NHL Winter Classic, and has asked fans to help him design other sets.
The Detroit goaltender kept things simpler this time, but with a look that should perfectly compliment the Stadium Series jerseys, Mrazek's new Vaughn gear is no less impressive.
