A parade for the 2016 Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins will take place Wednesday in downtown Pittsburgh, the city and Allegheny County announced Monday.
The parade will begin on Grant Street at Liberty Avenue at 11:30 a.m. ET, move up Grant Street, and turn right onto the Boulevard of the Allies before concluding at the intersection of Boulevard of the Allies and Stanwix Street, the same route used when the Penguins won the Stanley Cup in 2009.
At the conclusion of the parade, a stage will be set up for a rally featuring speeches and a celebration from Penguins players and staff.
Road closures and barricading along the parade route will begin at 12 a.m. Wednesday.
The Penguins won the Stanley Cup for the fourth time in their history with a 3-1 win against the San Jose Sharks in Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final on Sunday.
