WPG@STL: Laine's five-goal game makes Jets history

It was a win for the Winnipeg Jets, a personal coup for Patrik Laine and perhaps a big victory for a lucky fan as well to the tune of $1 million.

Patrik Laine's Earth-shattering five goal performance on Saturday helped his team to a big 8-4 win against the St. Louis Blues. It also made him the NHL's new leader in goals, supplanting Buffalo Sabres forward Jeff Skinner at the top for the moment.
Laine also became the 57th player to score five times, the 11th since the start of the 1987-88 NHL season and was the third-youngest player in League history to score five.

And, in addition to all of that, it won a Winnipeg resident a huge chunk of cash.
Laine's big night means that there is an apparent winner in Sobeys/Safeway's "Score & Win" contest.
Tweet from @ScoreAndWin2018: What a night for @PatrikLaine29 and Christopher Haley of Winnipeg.A 5 goal game means a Million Dollar prize, plus $100,000 for the 4th goal & $1,000 in Gift Cards for the 3rd goal.We have been in contact with Christopher this evening.Congratulations from Sobeys Safeway!
Besides helping out the fan, Laine also impressed a former high-scoring Jets forward, Teemu Selanne.

Laine though, wasn't about to throw any parties for himself, calling the feat "one of those nights."
