Always Dreaming, co-owned by Florida Panthers owner Vincent Viola, finished eighth in the 142nd Preakness Stakes on Saturday.
After winning the Kentucky Derby on May 6, Always Dreaming was the 6-5 favorite in the 1 3/16th-mile race at Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, Maryland, which was won by Cloud Computing.
The colt, which had won its first four races of the year, runs for Brooklyn Boyz Stables, which is owned in part by Viola and childhood friend Anthony Bonomo.
Viola has owned the Panthers since Sept. 27, 2013.
Nyquist, named for Detroit Red Wings forward Gustav Nyquist, won the Kentucky Derby last year and finished third in the Preakness.
