The Vegas Golden Knights (22-8-1) fell to the Colorado Avalanche (21-8-3), 5-1, on Thursday night at Ball Arena.

HOW IT WENT DOWN
The Golden Knights' sole tally was scored by Max Pacioretty in the first 40 seconds of the contest. The Avalanche responded with five unanswered goals in the second and third period to win the game, 5-1.
