Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Olli Maatta is expected to miss six weeks after surgery to repair a hand injury.

Maatta, 22, was injured during the second period of a 4-3 overtime win against the Winnipeg Jets on Thursday. He has seven points (one goal, six assists) in 54 games this season.
The Penguins recalled defensemen Cameron Gaunce and Steve Oleksy from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League.
Gaunce, 26, had two assists and was plus-3 in three games with the Penguins earlier this season. With Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, he scored two goals and 11 assists and was plus-15 in 47 games.
Oleksy, 31, has split this year between Pittsburgh and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. He has one assist, a plus-2 rating and 22 penalty minutes in nine NHL games.
