Notebook: Christian Ehrhoff gets tryout with Bruins

Defenseman Christian Ehrhoff has agreed to a professional tryout with the Boston Bruins, TSN reported Friday.
Ehrhoff played 48 games last season with the Chicago Blackhawks (eight) and Los Angeles Kings; he had two goals and 10 assists and was minus-11. He has 74 goals and 265 assists (339 points) in 789 NHL games with the San Jose Sharks, Vancouver Canucks, Buffalo Sabres, Pittsburgh Penguins, Blackhawks and Kings.

The 34-year-old helped Team Europe reach the World Cup of Hockey 2016 final, when it was swept by Team Canada in two games. CSN New England said he will report to the Bruins this weekend.

Senators:

Forward Mark Stone (concussion) practiced with the Ottawa Senators on Friday and could play in a preseason game Tuesday against the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Ottawa Sun reported.
"I would like to get into [at least] one game, just to get into game shape," Stone told the newspaper. "I haven't played a game in four or five months, and it's nice to get into at least one to get used to your surroundings."
Stone was injured Sept. 23, the first day of training camp.
"I don't really know what happened," he said. "All I know is I came out of it with a concussion. It's an unfortunate thing, especially on the first day of camp. … Things happen when people [are] fighting for spots and everybody is ramped up on the first day of camp."

Sharks:

Forward Timo Meier will be unavailable to the San Jose Sharks for four weeks because of mononucleosis, CSN Bay Area reported.
"He will remain in the Bay Area where he can skate and train as his recovery allows," general manager Doug Wilson said.
Meier, 19, practiced the first two days of training camp on a line with Patrick Marleau and Matt Nieto. He missed five days and tried to return Friday.
"Now, every game that he misses, someone else gets that chance," coach Peter DeBoer said. "I think that's just the way the hockey world works."

Blackhawks:

Forward Patrick Kane will play in a preseason game Saturday against the St. Louis Blues, CSN Chicago reported.
Kane, the NHL MVP and scoring leader last season, played for Team USA at the World Cup of Hockey 2016. He had two assists in three losses.
