Boltmann learns he is drafted by Flames at practice

Celebrations don't usually break out in the middle of a hockey practice, but the Lincoln Stars found an exception to that rule.

Stars players mobbed teammate Jake Boltmann after finding out he was chosen by the Calgary Flames with the No. 80 pick in the 2020 NHL Draft on Wednesday.

Boltmann has been training for his final season of junior with Lincoln before heading off to the University of Minnesota for the 2021-22 season. He and his Stars teammates were practicing when word came down that the defenseman was selected by the Flames in the third round.
Boltmann wasn't the only player lauded by his teammates during practice. Sam Stange got plenty stick taps from his University of Wisconsin teammates after the Badgers forward found out was selected in the fourth round by the Detroit Red Wings.
