NHL community recognizes National Nurses Week

Call it a virtual show of applause.

NHL players and fans said thank you to nurses and participated in a cyber applause in honor of National Nurses Day on Wednesday.

People across the globe, including New York Rangers legend Rod Gilbert, have been walking out of their houses at 7 p.m. local time to cheer and show appreciation for health care workers fighting the COVID-19 pandemic.

The NHL shared a video of its fans and players, including Connor McDavid, PK Subban and David Pastrnak, thanking nurses for National Nurses Week, which runs from May 6-12.
