Forward Ales Hemsky agreed to terms on a one-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens on Monday.

Financial details were not released, but it is worth $1 million, according to CapFriendly.com.
Hemsky, who turns 34 on Aug. 13, had four goals and three assists in 15 games with the Dallas Stars last season, missing 62 games with a hip injury.
"I'm training at 100 percent and I'm back to 100 percent right now," he said, according to The Canadian Press. "So I'm sure I'll be ready for the season and for training camp. I'm excited for that."

Hemsky played the past three seasons with the Stars
He was selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round (No. 13) of the 2001 NHL Draft and played 11 seasons with them. He had an NHL career-high 77 points (19 goals, 58 assists) in 2005-06 and six goals and 11 assists in 24 games in the 2006 Stanley Cup Playoffs, when Edmonton advanced to the Cup Final.
In 838 games with the Stars, Oilers and Ottawa Senators, Hemsky has 572 points (174, goals, 398 assists).
