The Rangers are coming off a 3-1 win at home against the Buffalo Sabres on Sunday after winning road games against the San Jose Sharks and Anaheim Ducks last week, both in a shootout. Their penalty kill was 4-for-4 against the Sabres.
The Canadiens are looking for a back-to-back Big Apple sweep after defeating the New York Islanders 4-3 in a shootout at Barclays Center on Monday.
Henrik Lundqvist, who made 39 saves against Buffalo, is expected to start for the Rangers opposite Montreal's Carey Price, who has allowed 11 goals on 88 shots in his past three starts.

Howden was injured against the Sabres. Quinn said he was doing well and possibly could play, but the Rangers will be cautious in their approach with the rookie center. … Andersson, who was recalled from Hartford of the American Hockey League on Monday, could make his season debut.
