Fiala wins it in OT for the Kings, 4-3

Kevin Fiala scored at 1:09 of overtime to give the Los Angeles Kings a 4-3 win against the Philadelphia Flyers at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Tuesday.

Fiala scored on a 2-on-1 rush, keeping the puck and shooting after Scott Laughton hit the post and Pheonix Copley saved Travis Sanheim's follow-up attempt at the other end of the ice.
"It's obviously a great shot by Kevin," Los Angeles captain Anze Kopitar said. "'Copper' bailed us out back there with a nice save, and we were able to capitalize on that."

Kopitar scored twice, and Copley made 28 saves for the Kings (27-17-6), who have won their past two games after losing three in a row for the second time this season.
Los Angeles coach Todd McLellan said Fiala's line with Blake Lizotte and Jaret Anderson-Dolan was supposed to be out on the ice at the end of the third period, but he kept them on the bench so Fiala would be ready for overtime.
"I don't think he was real happy with that, but that was us thinking ahead," McLellan said of Fiala, who had his 15th multipoint game. "Thank goodness we had him out there fresh and he was able to finish."
James van Riemsdyk had a goal and an assist, Ivan Provorov had two assists, and Carter Hart made 34 saves for the Flyers (20-21-8), who have at least one point in 10 of 14 games (9-4-1).
"Tonight, I mean, I watched how quick that team played when the game started and I said, 'Man.' But then I thought we stuck right in there with them, got our legs and played a really good hockey game," Philadelphia coach John Tortorella said.
Samuel Fagemo tied it 3-3 for Los Angeles at 18:36 of the second period on a wrist shot from the slot through traffic.

LAK@PHI: Fagemo ties the game in the 2nd

Fagemo had failed to track Rasmus Ristolainen when he put the Flyers up 3-2 at 10:37 of the second by cutting across the crease and scoring on a backhand off van Riemsdyk's pass from the right point.
McLellan was pleased with Fagemo's response, including his second NHL goal in 11 career games.
"I know 'Sammy' was disappointed in Ristolainen's goal," McLellan said. "It was an opportunity for him to check that situation and let it get away on him, and he knew right away. But then to come back and answer with the goal itself was really important. And that timing of that goal and the momentum there was important for our team as well."
The Flyers took a 1-0 lead at 5:50 of the first period on van Riemsdyk's eighth goal. Owen Tippett was able to re-collect his bouncing entry pass into the offensive zone, springing a quick 2-on-1 that van Riemsdyk finished.
Kopitar tied it 1-1 four seconds into a power play at 9:21 on a one-timer from the high slot set up by Fiala.

Wade Allison put the Flyers back up 2-1 at 10:27 by following up his own rebound off the rush.
Kopitar tied it 2-2 at 11:40, skating down the near hash marks of the right circle to put in Adrian Kempe's pass from behind the net.
"I saw when he took a little bit of, I guess, a longer route around the net, and I figured I was going to be a good option for him, and he made a really nice play," Kopitar said.
Los Angeles was 1-for-5 on the power play; Philadelphia was 0-for-3.
"It's just too many penalties," Tortorella said. "I thought our penalty killers did a great job. Other than the quick first one that they scored, I thought our guys did a really good job."

With three goals and 27 assists, Doughty joined Ryan Suter of the Dallas Stars as the second active NHL defenseman to have at least 13 seasons with 30 points.
