Jaromir Jagr 5.9

Jaromir Jagr doesn't like to brag, but he sure can take a compliment when one is thrown his way.

The former NHL forward expressed his gratitude after a panel of NHL.com writers selected him in the top spot of the most recent Super 16 power rankings.

Jagr earned the No. 1 spot from 10 of 13 voters and finished ahead of Hockey Hall of Famers Mike Bossy, Guy Lafleur, Brett Hull and Jari Kurri among right wings from 1967-2020. He shared the post thanking the writers on Instagram on Friday.

"I don't like to brag as I know pride comes before a fall," he said. "I realize that without God, my parents and the people who have helped me, I would never be able to achieve anything, but I will make an exception today. Thirteen journalists from the NHL voted for the best right wing of 1967-2020. Ten of them put me first. Thank you. I really appreciate it."

Jagr's 766 goals ranks third in NHL history behind Wayne Gretzky (894) and Gordie Howe (801), and he trails only Gretzky (2,857) on the NHL points list with 1,921. He last played in the NHL with the Calgary Flames in 2017-18.
