NEW YORK -- Philadelphia Flyers defenseman Matt Niskanen has been suspended for one game for cross-checking Montreal Canadiens forward Brendan Gallagher during Game 5 of the teams' First Round series in Toronto on Wednesday, Aug. 19, the National Hockey League's Department of Player Safety announced today.

The incident occurred at 14:52 of the third period.
