Philadelphia Flyers goalie Steve Mason did not start the second period against the San Jose Sharks at SAP Center on Friday.

The Flyers did not have an update on Mason's condition after a 2-0 loss.
"I'll be able to answer that a little better tomorrow," Flyers coach Dave Hakstol said. "I don't have a whole lot of information right now. So we'll probably give you a little more information tomorrow."
Mason appeared to injure his hand when he and Sharks forward Joe Thornton hit each other late in the first period.
"I didn't think it was deliberate (by Thornton) by any means," Flyers forward Wayne Simmonds said. "He's going to the crease and going through the goalie."
Mason required attention from the Flyers trainer but finished the period. He allowed one goal facing 12 shots and spent the remainder of the game on the bench.
Stolarz played his fourth NHL game. He is with Philadelphia because Michal Neuvirth has been out since Nov. 12 with a knee injury.
