Philadelphia Flyers captain Claude Giroux provided a grieving young fan with a day he'll never forget.
After scoring in the Flyers' 6-0 win against the Columbus Blue Jackets at Wells Fargo Center on Saturday, Giroux presented Jack Barney, 13, with a personalized No. 96 Flyers jersey in honor of his late father's badge number.

Salt Lake City Officer Doug Barney, a veteran of the United States Navy who served in law enforcement for 18 years, was fatally shot in the line of duty in January. He is survived by his wife, Jack and two daughters, each of whom made the trip from Utah to Philadelphia to cheer on the Flyers and meet Giroux, Jakub Voracek and Wayne Simmonds.
Jack became a fan when his father gave him his first puck adorned by the Flyers logo.
"I just love the Flyers and Claude Giroux," Jack said. "This is a great night."
