Panthers team scope: Florida made three trades on Saturday, acquiring defenseman Jakub Kindl from the Detroit Red Wings and forwards Jiri Hudler from the Calgary Flames and Teddy Purcell from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for draft picks. None of the three will play Sunday. "We identified what we wanted to build on," general manager Dale Tallon told the team's website. "We needed a presence on the power play, we needed experience, we wanted a good puck-moving defenseman. We also thought that we needed to give ourselves three really good scoring lines." Florida opened a five-game road trip with a 4-3 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Saturday. The final four games of the trip will come against Western Conference opponents. Goaltender Al Montoya is expected to start after Roberto Luongo played Saturday.
Wild team scope: Forward Zach Parise is expected to return after missing two games with an upper-body injury. Parise practiced with the team Saturday, skating on a line with Mikko Koivu and Charlie Coyle. "Felt good today," Parise said. "They're always tough [to miss games], especially right now with the spot we're in. This time of year, it's not fun missing games." Goaltender Devan Dubnyk, who did not dress in a 3-2 loss to the Washington Capitals on Friday, is available and could start. The Wild have lost three in a row after winning their first four games under interim coach John Torchetti. Zucker and defenseman Jonas Brodin also practiced on Saturday but are more likely to return against the Colorado Avalanche on Tuesday. Minnesota will play its next two games at Xcel Energy Center, where it has lost its past nine games.
