Facts and Figures

The Dallas Stars will try to show the resilience that carried them to the Stanley Cup Final and take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-7 series with a win against the Tampa Bay Lightning in Game 3 at Rogers Place in Edmonton on Wednesday (8 p.m. ET; NBCSN, CBC, SN, TVAS).

The Stars are 6-2 following a loss in the 2020 postseason with goalie Anton Khudobin 5-1. Ed Belfour (7-1 in 2000 and 6-2 in 1999) is the only goalie in Stars/Minnesota North Stars history with more wins after a loss in a single postseason.
Dallas, which tied the Washington Capitals for first in the NHL with eight multigoal comeback wins during the regular season, leads the NHL with eight this postseason. The Stars rallied from down 1-0 and 2-1 against the Calgary Flames to win the Western Conference First Round in six games with one of their three multigoal comeback victories, tied with the Vegas Golden Knights for most in the postseason.

For the third consecutive year and 30th time in NHL history, a best-of-7 Stanley Cup Final is tied 1-1. The winner of Game 3 in a tied Final has won the Stanley Cup 22 times (22-7, 75.9 percent), but the loser has rallied to win the Cup in four of the past five years. The Capitals
were the last team to win Game 3
en route to winning the Cup with a five-game series victory against the Golden Knights in 2018.

Point, Pavelski vie for postseason goal-scoring lead

Lightning center Brayden Point and Stars center Joe Pavelski each scored his 10th goal of the 2020 postseason during a 3-2 Tampa Bay win in Game 2 to tie Vancouver Canucks center Bo Horvat for most in the NHL.
The 2020 Stanley Cup Final marks the third time since 2011 that each team in the Final has a player who has scored at least 10 goals: Pavelski (14) and center Logan Couture (10) for the San Jose Sharks and forward Phil Kessel (10) for the Pittsburgh Penguins in 2016; and center Tyler Johnson (13) and forward Nikita Kucherov (10) for the Lightning and forward Patrick Kane (11) and center Jonathan Toews (10) for the Chicago Blackhawks in 2015.
Pavelski is the 10th player in Stars/North Stars history to score at least 10 goals in one postseason and first since Brett Hull (11) and Mike Modano (10) in 2000.
