Kailer Yamamoto 2.25

Kailer Yamamoto is week to week for the Edmonton Oilers because of an ankle injury.

The forward was injured during a 4-2 win against the Los Angeles Kings on Sunday. He had one assist in 16:58 of ice time.
"We talked to him on the bench and he wanted to keep going," Oilers coach Dave Tippett said. "So he kept pushing through and got a little treatment in between periods. Unfortunately, it was more sore yesterday, so we'll hold him out a little bit here until he gets healthy.
"Anytime a player gets hurt, when he's impacting your roster as much as Yamamoto is, it's hard to see a guy go out. That said, you deal with the injuries and move on. It's part of the game."
Yamamoto has 21 points (nine goals, 12 assists) in 21 games with Edmonton since his recall from Bakersfield of the American Hockey League on Dec. 29.
Forward Markus Granlund was recalled from Bakersfield.
The Oilers (33-22-7) are second in the Pacific Division, three points behind the Vegas Golden Knights, entering their game against the Anaheim Ducks at Honda Center on Tuesday (10 p.m. ET; PRIME, SNW, NHL.TV).
Edmonton acquired forwards Andreas Athanasiou and Tyler Ennis in separate trades with the Detroit Red Wings and Ottawa Senators on Monday. Defenseman Mike Green was traded to Edmonton by Detroit the day before.
"With the injury to [Yamamoto] we're kind of looking at some different things," Tippett said. "We want to get the new guys up and going as quick as we can."
