Larkin DET

Dylan Larkin has proven adept at working overtime this season, and the Detroit Red Wings have benefited from his prowess after regulation.

The center set a Red Wings record with his fourth overtime goal this season in a 4-3 win against the Nashville Predators at Little Caesars Arena on Friday to help Detroit end a six-game losing streak (0-4-2). Larkin had been tied with Herbie Lewis (1933-34), Steve Yzerman (2000-01) and Brendan Shanahan (2003-04), who each had three.
Larkin became the 20th player in NHL history to score at least four overtime goals in a single season and is one short of matching the single-season League record of five, held by four active players: Tampa Bay Lightning center Steven Stamkos, Chicago Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews, Arizona Coyotes center Alex Galchenyuk and Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand.

Murray helps Penguins achieve eighth wonder

Matt Murray has the Pittsburgh Penguins on a roll.
Thanks to the goalie's 33-save shutout, the Penguins defeated the Winnipeg Jets 4-0 at PPG Paints Arena for their eighth straight victory, the longest active winning streak in the NHL.
Murray won his seventh consecutive start to tie his longest streak in the NHL, set from March 6-April 7, 2016 and matched Oct. 7-26, 2017. He has a 1.27 goals-against average, .962 save percentage and two shutouts in that run.

Murray earns Friday's Pepsi Zero Sugar Shutout

Pittsburgh's win Friday gave it 18 straight home victories against the Jets/Atlanta Thrashers dating back to March 24, 2007.
Since they got off to a 6-5-3 start, the Penguins have gone 17-7-3 to move into a tie in points with the Washington Capitals for first place in the Metropolitan Division. Only the Lightning (21-4-1) and Vegas Golden Knights (19-7-0) have recorded more wins and points over that span.

Barrie sets Avalanche standard

Tyson Barrie had three assists to help the Colorado Avalanche end a six-game losing streak (0-4-2) and defeat the New York Rangers 6-1 at Pepsi Center, becoming the highest-scoring defenseman in Avalanche/Quebec Nordiques history.
Barrie, who had at least three assists for the ninth time in his NHL career, boosted his League totals to 278 points (66 goals, 212 assists) in 444 games to pass John-Michael Liles, who had 275 points (68 goals, 207 assists) in 523 games.

NYR@COL: MacKinnon pots PPG as Barrie sets new mark

Center Nathan MacKinnon and forward Gabriel Landeskog each scored his 25th goal of the season in his 42nd game, marking the fastest instance since the team moved to Colorado in 1995 that two players reached the 25-goal mark.

Fleury, Golden Knights sparkling

Marc-Andre Fleury made 35 saves in the Golden Knights' 3-2 win against the Ducks at Honda Center to give Vegas its fifth straight win and a point in its eighth consecutive game (6-0-2).

The Golden Knights' point streak is their second-longest since their inaugural season in 2017-18 and trails only a 13-game run from Dec. 3-Jan. 2, 2018, a span that included the longest winning (eight games) and point streaks in NHL history by a team in its inaugural season.
Fleury improved to 8-0-3 in his past 11 games dating to Dec. 9 (2.34 GAA, .920 save percentage, one shutout), his longest point streak since a 12-game run with the Penguins from Feb. 21-March 25, 2012 (11-0-1).
