Fantasy picks: Alex Galchenyuk pacing Canadiens

Each day this season, NHL.com's fantasy staff will provide daily picks for DraftKings NHL contests. This list of targets includes expensive and value options at each position to help you build a winning roster.

C - Henrik Zetterberg, DET ($5,000)
Zetterberg scored his first goal of the season Wednesday when the Detroit Red Wings lost 4-3 in overtime to the Philadelphia Flyers. He also had four shots on goal, for 5.5 DraftKings points. Although the goals haven't been there for Zetterberg, he has four assists and is reasonably priced at $5,000 against the Winnipeg Jets. Zetterberg also usually is on the ice at important moments in the game because he's good on faceoffs, meaning he could have a chance for a point or two on the power play and not just at even strength.
C - Alex Galchenyuk, MTL ($6,500)
Galchenyuk has 10 points (three goals) in 10 games, including at least a point in eight. He had two assists, one SOG and two blocks in the Montreal Canadiens' 3-0 win against the Vancouver Canucks on Wednesday. He has at least 4.0 DraftKings points in each of his past three games and is a good pick at center against the Columbus Blue Jackets.

W - Blake Wheeler, WPG ($6,600)
The Jets wing had three goals and eight points prior to the game Thursday against the Washington Capitals and was averaging 3.8 DraftKings points per contest. That included an assist in each of the two previous games and a combined seven SOG. Wheeler should get plenty of chances against the Red Wings, who have lost three games in a row, allowing 10 goals in that span.
W - Corey Perry, ANA ($6,900)
Perry is the third-most expensive wing on a three-game night but is one of the safer options. He has four goals and eight points in 11 games for the Anaheim Ducks and is averaging 3.5 DraftKings points per contest. Perry also gets to play the Arizona Coyotes, who he has 25 goals and 47 points against in his career, each his highest total against any team.

D - Seth Jones, CBJ ($4,600)
Jones has two goals and four points in eight games for the Blue Jackets, including the game-winning goal, two SOG and five blocks in a 3-2 overtime win against the Dallas Stars on Tuesday. He's shown more of his offensive side this season, and although that might be difficult against the Canadiens, who are 9-0-1 and have allowed 13 goals, he has at least three blocks in four of eight games, meaning he should provide a good return for value even if he doesn't score but manages a decent number of blocks and SOG.
D - Cam Fowler, ANA ($5,200)
Fowler leads Ducks defensemen with four goals and eight points and has at least a point in six of his past 10 games. He had a goal with three SOG and two blocks in a 5-1 loss to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Wednesday and is averaging 3.5 DraftKings points per contest. Fowler has at least two SOG in eight games and has 13 blocks (or more than one per game). He should be able to generate points offensively and chip in defensively against the Coyotes.

G - Al Montoya, MTL ($8,100)
The Canadiens will give Carey Price a break and turn to Montoya, who has performed more like a starter than a backup. Montoya is 3-0-1 with a 1.47 goals-against average, a .955 save percentage and a shutout, averaging 8.1 DraftKings points per contest. He'll be on the road to play the Blue Jackets, who have scored 2.63 goals per game this season.
G - John Gibson, ANA ($7,900)
Gibson likely will start for the Ducks against the Coyotes and will look to bounce back after allowing four goals on 34 shots in a 5-1 loss to the Penguins on Wednesday. Prior to that, he made 30 saves in a 4-0 shutout against the Los Angeles Kings on Tuesday. Gibson is 4-2-2 with a 2.58 GAA and .911 SV%, and is averaging 3.9 DraftKings points per contest. He's a good pick against a lackluster Coyotes offense.
