Cory Schneider IR

New Jersey Devils goaltender Cory Schneider will be out the rest of the week because of a hip/groin injury he sustained in 3-2 loss to the Boston Bruins on Jan. 23.

Schneider, who has missed the past eight games, was placed on injured reserve Monday, retroactive to the day of the injury. He is expected to resume skating next week.
Schneider is 17-11-6 with a 2.79 goals-against average and .913 save percentage in 35 games.
The Devils play at the Philadelphia Flyers on Tuesday (7 p.m. ET; NBCSP, MSG+2, NHL.TV), home against the Carolina Hurricanes on Thursday, at the Tampa Bay Lightning on Saturday, and at the Hurricanes on Sunday.
New Jersey (27-20-8) holds the first wild card into the Stanley Cup Playoffs from the Eastern Conference with 62 points, one ahead of the Hurricanes. They are three points behind the Flyers for third place in the Metropolitan Division.
