Stars use London clock tower to announce 'Big Ben' Bishop's new contract

Big Ben is moving to Dallas. The goalie, that is.

After Ben Bishop signed a six-year, $29.5 million contract with the Dallas Stars on Friday, the team announced the news on Twitter by posting a picture of London landmark Big Ben in the Dallas skyline.

Bishop, who is 6-foot-7 and is nicknamed "Big Ben," was acquired by the Stars from the Los Angeles Kings for a fourth-round pick at the 2017 NHL Draft on Tuesday. The Kings had acquired Bishop and a fifth-round pick at the 2017 draft from the Tampa Bay Lightning for goalie Peter Budaj, defenseman Erik Cernak and two seventh-round picks for the 2017 draft on Feb. 26.
It won't be Bishop's first time playing hockey in Dallas either. The 30-year-old played junior 'A' hockey for Texas of the North American Hockey League in 2004-05 and announced his excitement about returning to Dallas.
