GLENDALE, ARIZONA -The Arizona Coyotes announced today that the club will retire former Coyotes' Captain Shane Doan's number 19 jersey on Sunday, February 24 when the Coyotes host the Winnipeg Jets. Game time is 7:00 p.m. Doan will become the first Coyotes player to have his jersey retired at Gila River Arena. Former Coyotes players Keith Tkachuk (7), Jeremy Roenick (97) and Teppo Numminen (27) along with former Winnipeg Jets players Bobby Hull (9), Thomas Steen (25) and Dale Hawerchuk (10) have been inducted into the Coyotes' Ring of Honor.
"Shane Doan is Mr. Coyote and a Valley icon," said Coyotes' President & CEO Ahron Cohen. "No one has done more for the Coyotes or the game of hockey in Arizona than Shane. For the past 22 years, Shane has been an incredible ambassador for our franchise and has represented the Coyotes with class, dignity and professionalism. He has given his heart and soul to the Coyotes and is most deserving of this tremendous honor."
