Blue Jackets team scope

The Columbus Blue Jackets make their final regular-season visit to Joe Louis Arena looking for a bounce-back performance after a 5-1 home loss against the New Jersey Devils on Saturday. The Blue Jackets are 6-8-1 since their 16-game winning streak and need a win to avoid their first three-game losing streak of the season. "We win one and lose a couple," coach John Tortorella said after the loss to New Jersey. "That's what our record is, a little under .500. It's not an easy league." The Blue Jackets have been struggling on the road, going 3-5-1 in their last nine games away from home after starting the season 12-2-3. Columbus still has the NHL's top power play (24.3 percent) but hasn't been earning opportunities to use it. The Blue Jackets have had the man advantage four times in their previous five games, going without a power play in three of those games.

Red Wings team scope

The Detroit Red Wings will be looking to extend a two-game winning streak that has pulled them within five points of the third-place Toronto Maple Leafs in the Atlantic Division. Goaltender Petr Mrazek, coming off a 42-save shutout at the Nashville Predators on Saturday, will get his third straight start. Rookie Jared Coreau has gone 5-2-3 with Jimmy Howard recovering from a knee injury, but Howard could be back with the Red Wings as soon as this weekend. Coach Jeff Blashill held an optional skate Tuesday and said he won't be juggling his lines against Columbus. "[Chris Chelios] always tells me that Bob Johnson never changed a winning lineup at Wisconsin, so that's good enough for me," Blashill said with a smile.

Status report

Anderson missed the game against the Devils because of illness, but is expected to replace Hannikainen if he's fully recovered. The Blue Jackets continued their normal practice of not holding a morning skate. … Ott, who has missed 10 games with a shoulder injury, was activated from injured reserve but won't play against the Blue Jackets. "Tomas [Jurco] has shown a lot of confidence out there in the last few games, and I don't want to tell him that he's doing well but coming out of the lineup," Blashill said. "That will also give Ott a chance to get in an extra couple practices."
