Alex Ovechkin gave one Washington Capitals fan the perfect birthday present. In fact, it was just what she asked for.

The Capitals captain flipped a puck into the crowd during warmups, driving the recipient to tears of joy Thursday.
The fan came to Washington's game against the Carolina Hurricanes game with a sign that said "It's my 18th birthday, can I get a puck?" Ovechkin saw the sign, then flipped the puck into the stands to the girl.
The gesture, and also the fact it was Ovechkin delivering the gift, overwhelmed the girl and the guy she was with.
Fortunately, Ovechkin's flip
worked out better
than other
attempted puck gifts
in Washington in recent memory.
