Sedin, 35, has 10 goals and 48 points in 58 games this season. His 38 assists lead the Canucks.
Linden Vey will center the top line between Daniel Sedin and Emerson Etem.
"It's tough to have Hank down; a guy who means so much to our team, but to get this opportunity against a really good hockey club is good for Etem and I," Vey told the Canucks website. "For me, the last part of the season is not only getting the team in the (Stanley Cup) Playoffs but earn a spot back with the Canucks. It's a big game tonight."
Forward Radim Vrbata is expected to return. Vrbata, who has been sidelined since Feb. 21 with a lower-body injury, skated on the fourth line with left wing Alexandre Burrows and center Jared McCann on Monday at Toyota Sports Center in Los Angeles.
"I think [Vrbata's] going to be hungry," Desjardins told the Canucks website. "I've always said what a professional he is. It wasn't losing Hank to bring him back in the lineup; he was coming back regardless."
Defenseman Chris Tanev didn't skate Monday and is considered day-to-day with an upper-body injury sustained Saturday.
The Kings did not hold a full-team morning skate Monday, according to LA Kings Insider. Goaltender Jonathan Quick didn't skate, but is expected to start.
Los Angeles plays the third game of a five-game homestand. The Kings are coming off a 3-2 loss Saturday to the Anaheim Ducks, who now lead Los Angeles by two points atop the Pacific Division.
Kings coach Darryl Sutter stressed the importance of rebounding against Vancouver, another divisional opponent.
"Division games are big," Sutter told LA Kings Insider. "We've played really well, but we've also lost two division games lately, so it puts importance on the division. At the end of the year and at the beginning of the year, I'm sure all teams talk about the importance of the division games."
Right wing Kris Versteeg, who sustained an upper-body injury against Anaheim, could return to the lineup alongside Kyle Clifford and Nicholas Shore.
