Defenseman Miro Heiskanen, the No. 3 pick of the 2017 NHL Draft, gave the Stars a 1-0 lead at 5:31 of the first period. Zach Parise tied it 1-1 for the Wild at 14:44 of the second.
Anton Khudobin started for Dallas and made the save on all 14 shots he faced. Colton Point made 12 saves on 13 shots in 29:51.
Devan Dubnyk played the entire game for Minnesota and made 20 saves.
