THIS WEEK'S NEWS, NOTES AND NUMBERS…
STAT OF THE WEEK: During Boston's five-game winning streak from December 18 to December 27, Bruins rookies scored a total of 17 points, including the game-winning goal in four of the five games. Danton Heinen (3 points on 12/18), Jake DeBrusk (3 points on 12/18) and Matt Grzelcyk (2 points on 12/27) each achieved career highs for points in a single game during this span.
QUOTE OF THE WEEK: "I think everyone is contributing. We've had some guys go in and out of the lineup. And whoever has been called upon to have more responsibility, has done so. It's been great, it's been a fun ride and we got to keep that going. I think that the young guys are doing a tremendous job to be ready and to do the job and to help us win games. And hopefully, us as older guys, we can help them get more comfortable, feeling better and learn from us. We've got a good mix. It's been fun." -Patrice Bergeron on the team's recent success
TWEET OF THE WEEK (WEEK 16): @GlobeKPD (Kevin Paul Dupont, Boston Globe): "Bruins have gone 14-3-1 ever since a candlepin bowling biz opened on ground floor of their training facility. I find that striking. #spareme"

HONORABLE MENTIONS: @MattKalman (Matt Kalman, NHL.com) "you know your 7 year old is a hockey fan when he sees Grzelcyk on the roster sheet & knows it's "Griz-lick" without any help"
@HackswithHaggs (Joe Haggerty, NBC Sports Boston): "Loved sight of Marchand grabbing the puck after he scored Boston's 1st goal today. He got it for David Backes, who sent the pass to him & had a baby boy born about 12 hrs before the game. A pretty cool Backes keepsake forever & it tells you the B's players really like each other"
@JoeyMacHockey (Joe McDonald, Boston Sports Journal): "I just swore out loud in the press box after that move by David Pastrnak. Love when players use their creativity. The league needs more of that."
