Toews Hasek

Messages of congratulations from family and friends poured in for Patrick Kane as he played his 1,000th game Tuesday.

The Chicago Blackhawks forward reached the milestone during his 14th season in the NHL and got a special welcome from his teammates. They formed a saber arch with their sticks as he stepped on the ice for warmups.

During the game, the Blackhawks shared messages from teammates Jonathan Toews, who has not played this season, and Andrew Shaw.

Former teammates Marian Hossa and Dave Bolland also chimed in.

Hall of fame goalie Dominik Hasek shared a story involving Kane's dad, Patrick Sr., renting him a car. Kane is a native of Buffalo, where Hasek played nine seasons with the Sabres.

Kane's sisters, Erica, Jessica and Jaqueline made a video message that featured a cameo from their dad.

The day wasn't complete without some contributions from the man himself. Kane spoke to Blackhawks fans about missing their energy in the stands.

And he dabbled in a little ASMR-type situation with a video of him counting to 1,000 with soothing music in the background.

Kane is the seventh player in Blackhawks history to skate in 1,000 games along with Bobby Hull, Stan Mikita, Duncan Keith, Brent Seabrook, Eric Nesterenko and Bob Murray.
