Cale gifts kids

Cale Makar is inspiring the next generation’s future hockey stars.

The Colorado Avalanche defenseman and the NHLPA Goals & Dreams fund gifted local Colorado kids their first sets of hockey equipment on Friday.

The kids, who were ages 9-13, cheered as Makar walked into the locker room.

Makar helped the future hockey stars put on their equipment before they hit the ice for the first time.

Local junior ice hockey team, the Pueblo Bulls, formed a stick tunnel as the kids hit the ice before teaching them hockey skills.

Makar ended the day with two more gifts for the youths. An Xbox for the hockey rink and a copy of NHL 24, which Makar is the cover star on, for every kid that participated.
