ARI ANA 12.29 preview

COYOTES (16-19-2) at DUCKS (19-15-5)
10 p.m. ET, FS-W, FS-A, NHL.TV

Anaheim, which leads the NHL in save percentage at .918, could be without its top two goaltenders. John Gibson left the ice first at the morning skate, but coach Randy Carlyle said he'll be a game-time decision after sustaining an upper-body injury in a 4-2 loss at the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. Ryan Miller hasn't played since sustaining a knee injury against the New Jersey Devils on Dec. 9.
The Coyotes are 3-8-0 in their past 11 games, with just one of those victories in regulation. They are without No. 1 goalie Antti Raanta, who is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury sustained Nov. 27 against the Minnesota Wild.

Players to watch

Coyotes forward Conor Garland made his NHL debut on Dec. 8, scored his first NHL point on Dec. 22 and has a three-game point streak (two goals, one assist).
Ducks Ondrej Kase has eight points (five goals, three assists) in his past eight games. He missed Anaheim's two previous games against Arizona this season with a concussion.

They said it

"When we play fast, we avoid the physicality of the game." -- Arizona defenseman Jakob Chychrun
"Hockey's a funny game, but it's pretty fair. When things are going well, it's because you're putting in the work and you're doing the right things. So I think we have to clean up a few things and stay structured, and I think we'll start to see those bounces and the reward." -- Ducks forward Kiefer Sherwood
