Georgiev

NEW YORK -- Alexandar Georgiev left the game after the New York Rangers goalie sustained an injury in the first period against the Boston Bruins at Madison Square Garden on Sunday.

Georgiev appeared to be cut above his left eye when Bruins forward Nick Ritchie fell on him, landing on the back of his head, at 5:48 of the first period. He was looked at by the trainer but remained in the game.
Georgiev allowed a goal to Bruins forward Charlie Coyle at 6:41 on the first shot he faced after he sustained the injury. He went to the locker room after the goal and was replaced by Igor Shesterkin, but returned to the bench late in the first period.
Georgiev, who made four saves Sunday, made 31 saves in a 6-2 win against the Bruins here Friday.
