Sergei Ovechkin finally got to see his dad at work Monday.

Alex Ovechkin's young son was one of a few Washington Capitals children to attend their game against the Colorado Avalanche at Capital One Arena.

Sergei has visited his dad at Capitals practice but could attend his first NHL game because of the 5 p.m. ET puck drop. Sergey, 1, stood with his mom Nastya and watched dad skate during warmups. He even recognized the Capitals captain when he skated by to say hi.

Sergei joined Kirill Orlov, the almost 4-month-old son of the Capitals defenseman Dmitry Orlov, who also was attending his first NHL game.

Unfortunately the kids didn't help the Capitals to victory, as Colorado took a 6-3 win.
