The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Teddy Blueger to a two-year contract.
Blueger, 31, appeared in 35 games with the Vancouver Canucks last season, recording nine goals and eight assists. The Riga, Latvia native has skated in 453 career NHL regular season games with Pittsburgh, Vegas and Vancouver, recording 169 points (58 goals, 111 assists). He has appeared in 37 career Stanley Cup playoff games as a member of the Penguins, Golden Knights and Canucks, recording two goals and four assists. He captured the Stanley Cup in 2023 with Vegas.
Internationally, Blueger has represented Latvia at multiple levels, and most recently appeared skated for his country at the 2026 Winter Olympic Games, recording an assist in four games. He was named a Top 3 Player on Team for Latvia at the 2019 IIHF World Championship, the 2013 IIHF World Junior Championship and the 2012 IIHF World U-18 Championship.
Blueger was originally selected by Pittsburgh in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2012 NHL Draft.
