The Toronto Maple Leafs announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Brendan Brisson to a one-year contract.
Brisson, 24, split his 2025-26 season between the New York Rangers and Hartford Wolf Pack. He recorded an assist in three games with the Rangers, and collected 37 points (19 goals, 18 assists) in 66 games with the Wolf Pack. The Los Angeles native has appeared in 27 career NHL games between New York and the Vegas Golden Knights, recording two goals and seven assists. In 244 career AHL games with Hartford and the Henderson Silver Knights, he has amassed 145 points (66 goals, 79 assists).
Prior to his professional career, Brisson represented the United States at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing, scoring two goals in four games, and captured gold at the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship, skating in seven games and recording a pair of goals. He played for the University of Michigan Wolverines from 2020-22 and had 63 points (31 goals, 32 assists) in 62 games, winning a B1G Championship and earning B1G Second All-Star Team recognition in 2022. In 2019-20, as a member of the USHL’s Chicago Steel, Brisson was named USHL Rookie of the Year, earning spots on both the USHL First All-Star Team and the USHL All-Rookie Team, after recording 24 goals and 35 assists in 45 games.
Brisson was originally selected by Vegas in the first round (29th overall) of the 2020 NHL Draft.
