The NHL announced earlier this week that "with no games currently scheduled for Wednesday because of COVID-related postponements," the decision was made to postpone five games that remain scheduled for Thursday. The Kraken's road game at Calgary was previously postponed.
The move, in tandem with the NHL Players' Association, allowed for the start of a collectively-bargained holiday break effective after a Washington-Vegas game Dec. 21.

Under the revised schedule, Dec. 22, Dec. 23, Dec. 24 and Dec. 25 are now officially off days for all purposes -- including travel.
Players will report back to their teams Dec. 26, which will be used for testing, practice and/or travel only, said the league. Any practice Dec. 26 must begin after 2:00 p.m. local time.
The League's regular-season schedule will resume on Monday, Dec. 27. The Kraken are slated to play at Vancouver.
