Across the 82-game 2022-23 regular season, the Kings had many memorable moments and games. Whether it be a high scoring back-and-forth tilt, a come-from-behind victory or an overtime thriller, the Kings played in all of them. The Kings' 47-25-10 record goes down as the second-best regular season in franchise history as the 104 points fell just one point shy of the 105-point season in 1974-75. Despite a second consecutive first-round exit in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Kings took another step forward this season.

Looking back at the Kings' best games of the season, we give the Top 10 Games of the regular season.

10. November 16 @ Edmonton Oilers

3-1

Early in the season, the Kings traveled to Edmonton for the first time since being eliminated by the Oilers in Game 7 of first round of the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. With revenge on their minds, the Kings put together a playoff-esque performance, playing stingy defensive hockey. Allowing just one goal in the 60 minutes of regulation, the Kings needed offense from just one player on this particular night to earn the two points. That player was Trevor Moore. With a goal in all three periods, Moore notched his first career hat trick. Moore also made NHL history, becoming the first California-born player to get a hat trick for California-based NHL team.

Not to be forgotten, Viktor Arvidsson recorded a three-assist night for third time in his career and the Kings blocked a season high 29 shots.

9. January 9 vs. Edmonton Oilers

6-3

With the improved offense this past season, the Kings had the ability to outscore their opponents in back and forth games on any given night. In early-January, the Kings were red hot on the ice. The high-scoring, nine-goal affair between the Kings and the Oilers saw special teams dominance in favor of the good guys. Going up against what would become the NHL's best power play in the history of the game, the Kings killed off all six Oilers power plays.

On the other end of the ice, the Kings went 4-for-6 on the man advantage, netting four power-play goals for the first time since April 5th, 2012.

Other notable news from the Kings win over the Oilers came from captain Anze Kopitar as the 35-year-old recorded his 1,100th career point and 600th career home point. Kevin Fiala also had a memorable night, recording his fifth career four-plus point night (2-2=4). Fiala's four points all came on the power play, making him the sixth King in franchise history to accomplish that milestone and the first since Adam Deadmarsh (0-4=4) on February 8th, 2002.

8. October 18 @ Nashville Predators

4-3 (SO)

On the team's first road trip of the season they stopped in Nashville. Televised nationally on ESPN, the Kings showed their ability to come from behind early in the season. Trailing 3-1 late in the third period on the second half of a back-to-back, the Kings found two clutch goals from the stick of defenseman Matt Roy. First, with seven minutes remaining in the game, Roy joined a zone entry rush and put in a backdoor pass to get the Kings within one. Roy went on to even the game at 3-3 with 2:08 remaining in the regulation with a beautiful wrist shot in a 4-on-4 situation.

After picking up the primary assist on the game-tying goal in regulation, Gabriel Vilardi netted the shootout's only goal, giving the Kings the win and the extra point.

7. March 20 vs. Calgary Flames

8-2

If you like dominance from start to finish, this game was for you. In the midst of a 12-game home point streak, the Kings put together potentially their most complete game. Going up against a point-desperate Calgary Flames team, the Kings quickly put the game out of reach. The onslaught began in the first period with four Kings goals. Carl Grundstrom, Drew Doughty, Gabriel Vilardi and Viktor Arvidsson each found the back of the net in the first 20 minutes, while keeping the Flames off the scoresheet.

Moving to the second and third periods, the Kings outscored the Flames 2-1 in each 20-minute session while chasing Calgary goalie Jakob Markstrom from the net after the 40 minutes of play. Two Adrian Kempe goals, a Mikey Anderson tally and another goal from Grundstrom closed out the night as the Kings steamrolled a Flames team that ultimately missed the playoffs by two points.

6. December 29 @ Colorado Avalanche

5-4 (SO)

Sandwiched between two home games and the holiday break, the Kings traveled to the Mile High city to take on the defending Stanley Cup champions. Despite taking a first-period lead, the Kings found themselves down by two goals after a four-goal second period by the Avalanche.

Into the third period, Alex Iafallo quickly cut the deficit in half with a nifty power-play goal. With time winding down, Sean Walker took a pass in the slot, pulled the puck around a sliding Avs defender and ripped a shot high blocker to even the score at four.

Following a scoreless overtime, the game went to a shootout. Goals from Viktor Arvidsson and Adrian Kempe combined with two saves from Phoenix Copley gave the Kings an impressive comeback win.

5. October 15 @ Minnesota Wild

7-6

After a surprising 0-2-0 start, the Kings set out for a five-game trip beginning in Minnesota. Facing off against the Wild, a team that has historically played low-scoring games against the Kings, this game saw anything but that. In pursuit of their first win of the season, the Kings netted four goals in the first period. Taking a 4-2 lead into the second period, a Wild goal brought the game within one, but only for a few minutes. Giving the Kings their two-goal lead back was former Wild forward and current Kings star Kevin Fiala, who roofed one of the prettiest goals of the season for his first goal with his new organization.

A late push in the third period came from the Wild, tying the high-scoring affair at 6-6, but no need for extra time in this game. Just 31 seconds after the Wild tied the game, it was Adrian Kempe who netted the game-winning goal, one of Kempe's team-leading six GWG's on the season.

4. December 15 @ Boston Bruins

3-2 (OT)

On route to the best record and most points in NHL history, the Boston Bruins were as stingy as they came when talking about surrendering losses or even points on home ice. Entering the December 15th game against the Kings, the Bruins were 15-0-1 at TD Garden. It was 15-0-2 by night's end.

Trailing by two entering the third period, the odds were not in favor of the Kings. Fret not, it didn't matter. Leading goalscorer Adrian Kempe came up huge and buried two goals to tie the game. After burying a Kevin Fiala rebound to get the Kings on the board, the eventual 40-goal scorer took a Fiala pass on a 5-on-3 and one-timed it into the Bruins net to stun the crowd with just 2:10 remaining.

After a scoreless overtime, Trevor Moore continued his night to remember as the Thousand Oaks native netted the shoutout winner just hours after signing a five-year contract extension worth $21,000,000 ($4.2M AAV).

3. January 7 @ Vegas Golden Knights

5-1

In a tight divisional battle all season, the Kings and Golden Knights were separated by fewer than five points for much of the season. In terms of impressive performances and wins, this game had that. From puck drop to the final horn, the Kings were by far the better team on this night. Scoring the first four goals to take a usually ruckus Golden Knights crowd out of the game, the Kings were clinical. January 7th's performance was in many ways as close to "playing a full 60 minutes" as they come.

In the game itself, Kevin Fiala buried his second career hat trick and first-ever hat trick with the Kings.

2. February 28 @ Winnipeg Jets

6-5 (SO)

The Kings traveled to Winnipeg in late February to conclude a nine-day, five-game road trip. Having gone 1-2-1 in the prior four games of the trip, this Kings comeback win sparked a tremendous March and rest of the season.

After surrendering two first-period goals, the Kings were forced to play catch up. Leading the charge was none other than Anze Kopitar. Cutting the deficit in half was Kopitar on the power play with a one-timer to begin what would be a night for him to remember. In a busy six-goal second period, the Kings and Jets traded mini runs. Down 3-1, Kopitar netted another two goals for his sixth career hat trick. Tied 3-3, the Jets would score the next two goals before period's end to retake the two-goal lead.

Entering the final 20 minutes of regulation down a pair, the Kings rallied again to tie the game. Another Kopitar goal would make it the second time in his career that the Slovenian tallied four goals in a game. The game-tying goal would come off the stick of Gabriel Vilardi before the game would ultimately go to a shootout. Scoring the only goal in the shootout was Adrian Kempe and the Kings comeback win came in dramatic fashion.

From that point on, the Kings went 13-5-2.

1. February 11 vs. Pittsburgh Penguins

6-0

In the team's first game out of the All-Star break, the night began with a celebratory and memorable jersey retirement and statue unveiling of the great Dustin Brown. We even saw a guest appearance from the Stanley Cup. Into the game, the Kings led from start to finish in dominant fashion. The game began with an early Jaret Anderson-Dolan tip-in goal just 2:28 in and from there, the Kings never looked back. Late in the first period, Alex Iafallo doubled the lead, taking the wind out of the Penguins sails.

From then on, it was all Adrian Kempe. Following the theme of four-goal games, over the next two periods it was Kempe four, Penguins zero. Starting with a natural hat trick, the third of his career, Kempe also notched his first career four-goal game. Kempe's first two goals came at even strength, followed by a pair of power-play goals as the Kings leading goalscorer worked his way up to 26 goals at the time. The cherry on top came on the other end of the ice though. In net for the Kings was Phoenix Copley who recorded a 25-save shutout, his first shutout since the 2018 season. A feat well deserved given Copley's importance to the Kings regular season.

Not only did the Kings kick off the unofficial second half of the season with a convincing win, but it sparked the beginning of what would become a franchise record 13-game home point streak.
