Kings Notes:
Anze Kopitar tallied his 1,000th career NHL point on Walker's empty netter on Wednesday night, joining Marcel Dionne (1,307), Luc Robitaille (1,154) and Dave Taylor (1,069) as the only four players in franchise history to reach the milestone. He is one of just eight active players with 1,000 points and the first Slovenian to ever reach the mark. He joins Pittsburgh's Sidney Crosby (2005) and Chicago's Patrick Kane (2007) as the only players to reach 1,000 points being selected since the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. His 37 assists on the season are tied for 11th in the league.
Quinton Byfield recorded his first career NHL point with an assist on Anderson-Dolan's goal in the first period on Wednesday night against Arizona.
Gabriel Vilardi recorded his first career multi-goal game on Wednesday, scoring his eighth and ninth goals, including his third game winner of the season/of his career.
Sean Walker posted the first three-point game of his career, scoring on the empty net and adding two assists on Wednesday. In games where Walker has points, the Kings are 9-2-0.
Avalanche Notes:
Nathan MacKinnon recently just had his 15-game point streak in which the Avs assistant captain recorded 26 points (9-17=26) during that span.
The Avs have three players with a plus/minus above plus-20; Mikko Rantanen (plus-25), Nathan MacKinnon (plus-22) and Devon Toews (plus-22).
Who to Watch:
Anze Kopitar, who is now looking to start his bid for another 1,000 points in the NHL.
