The LA Kings today announced a full slate of special events and fan-focused celebrations for their first home game of the 2026-27 campaign on Tuesday, October 6, at 7:00 p.m. PT. The Kings will play the first of their 42 regular-season matchups at Crypto.com Arena when they welcome the Florida Panthers to downtown Los Angeles.
To inaugurate the Kings’ 60th anniversary celebration this year, the organization will host an Opening Night Fan Festival presented by American Express at L.A. LIVE, beginning at 3:30 p.m. PT. The free, family-friendly event will feature live entertainment, interactive games, food and beverage options, merchandise booths, and appearances from the team’s Ice Crew and beloved mascot, Bailey.
Celebrating six decades of NHL hockey in Los Angeles, all fans in attendance on Tuesday evening will receive a retro goalie mask when doors open at 5:30 p.m. PT. This giveaway item blends the style of those masks worn by legendary Kings netminders like Rogie Vachon and Terry Sawchuk during the early days of the franchise with the team’s modern color palette and iconography.
Prior to puck-drop, the LA Kings supporters' group “Royal Army” will debut a new signature moment during team introductions in collaboration with the Kings’ game presentation department. Fans will also witness the launch of the Kings’ “First Look” series with the song “Toxicity” by System of a Down. Following Tuesday’s home-opener, each Saturday home game throughout the 2026-27 campaign will feature a new music video to introduce the Kings to the ice. Matt Sallee and Kevin Olusola, acclaimed vocalists from the 3x Grammy Award-winning, multi-platinum vocal powerhouse Pentatonix will take center ice together for a special duo performance of the U.S. National Anthem.
From there, the celebration continues with a special performance by LA’s own Rooney during the first intermission, bringing the indie rock band’s sun-soaked sounds to the bright lights on Figueroa Street. Rooney will take the floor of the LA Kings Entertainment Stage on the arena’s Upper Concourse Terrace.
At 6:00 p.m., the organization will also be unveiling the new LA Kings Hall of Fame display on the main concourse near the Team LA Store. This museum display will include artifacts from the team’s 60-year history, plaques honoring each of the individual members of the Hall of Fame, and a new interactive set for fans to take photos alongside the likenesses of team icons from throughout the Kings’ storied past.
