Austin Wagner Nets First NHL Goal

Rookie Austin Wagner, who was recalled on Sunday from the Ontario Reign, scored his first-ever NHL goal last night against the Colorado Avalanche!
The goal, which was assisted by fellow rookie Matt Luff, came just after Wagner tallied his first career assist on Luff's goal that evening. The only thing better than these two setting each other up, was their reactions.

Wagner made a give-and-go style pass to Luff, who slid the puck back into the slot for the forward to be able to get a clear shot on Semyon Varlamov's glove side.
"It was a great play by Luffer. We had great [chemistry] last year and we've obviously worked a lot together in the past," Wagner said.

LA Kings Head Coach Willie Desjardins is impressed with what he's seen from the youngsters thus far.
"It was good to see Luff and Wagner capitalize," Desjardins said. "We're getting a little bit more out of our young players, which is good to see."

Wagner was drafted by the Kings in the fourth round of the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, and spent last season with the Ontario Reign.
He made his official NHL debut in the team's season opener on October 5 and has been using his incredible speed to turn heads and create breakaway opportunities since then.
